Scripture for Life - Let God Change You!

The scripture theme this week is on letting Christ change you by making Him the center of your life!

Acts 3: 1-10
"One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer - at three in the afternoon.  Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful, where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts.  When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money.  Peter looked straight at him, as did John.  Then Peter said, "Look at us!"  So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them.  Then Peter said, "Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.  In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk."  Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, and instantly the man's feet and ankles became strong.  He jumped to his feet and began to walk.  Then he went with them into the temple courts, walking and jumping, and praising God.  When all the people saw him walking and praising God, they recognized him as the same man who used to sit begging at the temple gate called Beautiful, and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him."

Almighty God, the Creator of the universe, wants a relationship with you!  He is ready and waiting for each of us to accept His love, and to be transformed by Him!

Scripture for Life - Purpose

As you enter into the summer, and perhaps have some time on your hands, you might find yourself wondering what to do.  Whenever you have some time it's always appropriate to communicate with God and remember that it's Him that gives your life purpose.

One Scripture verse for this is Ephesians 1:11
"It is in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for."

Scripture for Life - Embrace Change

Continuing the theme for the week of embracing change, here's another scripture on the subject and how we are to continually turn to God in times of change.
Psalm 31:14-15
"I trust in you, O Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hand."

Can you think of a time when you were pending change in your life that made you nervous or uncomfortable?  What are some examples of those times in life when turning to God can put us at ease?

Scripture Memory Verse; Week 7; Ecclesiastes 3:1

The Scripture verse for this week is appropriate considering the change coming from the school year into summer.  Remember that God, who invented everything, made seasons of change a part of our lives.

Ecclesiastes 3:1
"For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven."

Scripture for Life - God's Word

Today's scripture verse is about the power of God's word, how it will break through all barriers, nothing can hold it back!

Isaiah 55:11
"So is my word that goes out from my mouth:  It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
